Copy Context — Privacy Policy

Copy Context (“the extension”) is an independent browser extension. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
What the extension does
- It runs only on supported AI chat sites — Claude (
claude.ai), ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), and Gemini (gemini.google.com) — including their public share pages. - When you click its button, it reads the conversation already displayed on that page and copies it to your own clipboard as text.
- It stores a single, non-personal preference (your chosen output format) using the browser’s local storage so it remembers your choice. This never leaves your device.
What it does NOT do
- It does not send any data to the developer or to any server. There is no backend, no analytics, and no tracking.
- It does not read pages other than the supported AI chat sites listed above.
- It does not access your accounts, passwords, browsing history, or any personal information.
Permissions, and why they are needed
- activeTab — to read the conversation on the chat page you are viewing, only when you trigger the extension.
- clipboardWrite — to place the copied transcript on your clipboard.
- storage — to remember your output-format preference locally.
